Hopscotch (1980)

English This could have been a good, comedic spy film if the plot wasn't entirely mediocre. The actors do their best to save what they can, but it's not enough to get the film at least an average rating. It doesn't get to that point and is just a bad comedy with good acting performances, especially by the entertaining Walter Matthau.

Berlin Syndrome (2017)

English A girl wants to study in Berlin, where she is a bit bored and feels like a stranger, and so she is happy to make friends. It just doesn't occur to her that the nice man might be a little crazy. This is a good, civilly-conceived drama that doesn't want to go to unnecessary extremes, but in doing so still makes for a good, if lengthy, spectacle in which no one wants to find themselves.

Goon: Last of the Enforcers (2017)

English Unfortunately, this sequel provides almost nothing interesting. The only thing that stands out is the bloody fights, which I liked. But otherwise, the nostalgia and melodrama are about nothing, because you simply don't connect with the characters that well. Jay Baruchel shouldn't have been in this film at all, he should have just stayed behind the camera.

Boys in the Trees (2016)

English It's a strange film, but certainly not uninteresting. It's as if it wants to be a horror film, but avoids the truly scary scenes. Rather, it is a fantasy film that exposes the rational and irrational fears of teenagers in order to portray how challenging growing up is. I liked the strange poetics.

2:22 (2017)

English Initially it looked quite interesting and exciting, but it turned out to be a nice looking contradiction of itself that is not that well executed script-wise. Yet the fact that in at are some pretty fine actors makes it watchable, but it's definitely not a film that will blow you away, even if it wants you to think that about itself.

A Ghost Story (2017)

English "Přízrak" is definitely not a movie that will appeal to everyone. Its pace is truly so slow that at times you will just stare, wondering if the picture has frozen. The scene with the cake is the best example of this. But despite being almost wordless, the film manages to convey something to you and leave an impression on you.

A Haunting at the Rectory (2015)

English The horror film A Haunting at the Rectory can only be described as horror if you give the genre a really loose definition. There's nothing scary or creepy about it, or anything gross for that matter, there's no atmosphere that can get under your skin, there's nothing worth paying attention to, and no, the nudity doesn't help in this case either, because it's pretty bland. A Haunting at the Rectory is a misstep.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)

English This is exactly the kind of film I expected. It's entertaining, it's a B-movie, it's funny, it's action-packed, and it has great actors in roles that I enjoyed. True, some actors don't get as much space (Tatum, Bridges), but others get plenty (Moore and John). There are also several dramatic moments in the film. For me, it was very entertaining.

Throne of Elves (2016)

English I wasn't expecting much from a Chinese-American animated film, so I was quite pleasantly surprised, both by the visuals, which I thought were very good, and by the story, which was quite nice, and there weren't many places that bored me. It's not a revelatory story, but it was good in this rendition.

Playing God (1997)

English The film has something to it, but at the same time, it feels like it's not finished. It could have been quite bizarre, but it's actually quite normal, and it could have been surprising, but it really isn’t. It also could have been sexy, but it's wasn’t. David has charisma in this role and his character is good, but he doesn't end up carrying the film in the end.
