In 20XX, Maria, a robot, came to Ueno's house while he was still a child. Programmed to take care of him, Maria was given to him by his parents. After his parents pass away, Ueno experiments with Maria by attempting to program her for sexual functions. This is an absolutely great example of how crazy the Japanese are. They present a film that contains elements of eroticism and even perversity (at times, it's not far from pornography), and then they add a detective plot and a story about aging. They mainly wrap it all up in a dramatic guise, dealing with the question of human sexuality. All this via robots - robots in sexy outfits. Here, so many different genres and elements are combined that you'll be amazed at what can be created.
