A life story that will fill you with good energy. Karolina has my admiration, as her story really entertained and amazed me, only in the best sense of the word. For her ambitious and inspiring nature, she definitely deserves full marks. I am glad that luck smiled on her in all the aspects mentioned throughout the documentary. Helena Třeštíková once again did a quality job, as is customary for her time-lapse work.

An inconspicuous, but very pleasant relaxing movie to watch. I like the original topic where both funny and sad moments abound. The location, music, camerawork - everything gets top marks. Although it slipped into a similar mode as most movies about "sick love", but this takes none of the quality away. Everything that happens before that is joy and understanding.

I’m afraid that this almost cult picture didn’t leave any impression on me whatsoever. The way it was made seems rather shallow and unpolished. The one-liners aren’t funny, but simply rude. OK, the main protagonist is likeable and well acted, but we see no development in him. The only intriguing character is played by Miroslav Donutil who gives an absolutely marvelous performance and he was the only part of this movie that I found entertaining.

An absolutely exhausting story that is not worth seeing. 14 minutes was too much for such a weak plot and the performances of all the actors were a complete failure.

For a fairy tale that only lasts 90 minutes, it is incredibly tiresome and boring. The length of the filler scenes was unbearable, as were the performances and effects. The plot is also completely predictable, so the film does not bring anything new at all.

I really liked the period setting of this fairytale; the costumes, the masks and locations were excellent. But what I found disappointing was the extremely dragged out story. The plot was very weak and you could tell that it was over-long. The human characters seemed very shallow and lacked any development. This movie is of average quality, much helped by the visuals and the acting performances of the "witches".

An absolutely great concept and very successful execution. This is exactly what I expect from a new Christmas fairy tale. Plenty of snow, excellent performances (Tereza Ramba literally shone), and great costumes and setting. Of course, it also has a quality storyline that flows smoothly. I have nothing to criticize about, and the atmosphere and Christmas magic were in full swing.

Excellent work in terms of topic and screenplay. The same may be said of the two main characters, Z. Efron and L. Collins, one of whom gave a wonderfully in-depth studied performance which was almost completely flawless and the other presented a really dramatic struggle between feelings and conscience. I hadn’t heard about the real events before seeing this movie and I liked how the filmmakers left out the violent part, concentrating more on the main hero and demonstrating why he was so admired and popular. This movie really is worth seeing.

This movie has a lot of black humor moments and dramatic tension too. It’s certainly worth a watch, but maybe not two times over. I’m not sure. What leaves me in doubt are the only sketchy characters of both of the main protagonists. It seemed that I got to see too little of what was going on inside them to be able the properly enjoy the outright war that breaks out in the second half of the movie.

I didn’t expect anything complicated and I must admit that The Goldfish was a pleasant surprise. An intriguing topic, funny lines, an unusual combination of protagonists with nicely twisted characters who you can’t help but root for. The institution’s final solution had me absolutely gobsmacked.
