Horrible Bosses 2 (2014)

English After the funny and relaxed part one, here comes a sharp fall. I really don’t know how they managed to spoil it so. I’m surprised that I watched this cringey movie through to the end. The only thing that got me going was the stupidity of the main protagonists. In the first movie it was fine - witty and bearable for an American comedy. Now it looks like during the gap between parts one and two, a screw came loose in somebody’s head. They just keep on squabbling and speaking nonsense all the time. I give this 1* thanks only to Jennifer, who was the only thing that I enjoyed about this flop. So disappointing...

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014)

English The first part of the final season was as good as the preceding parts. But that what I thought rushed and confusing opening bothered me somewhat. It took me a while and a break to pull myself back together after watching that. But after that nothing bothered me and I began to enjoy myself, being treated to a host of stupendous scenes. The first part mainly gets you thinking: hey, it’s nearing the end already and we want an action-packed ending. The ending was just about right - not overly suspenseful, but it left a whole load of questions unanswered.

Come on, let's find a Treasure (2012)

English The animated Come on, let's find a Treasure really is for the very youngest among us. The movie is very simple and sleep-inducing from half-way through.

Raven the Little Rascal (2012)

English I could sum up Raven the Little Rascal as a pleasant and entertaining way of spending Sunday morning. All kids will simply love this movie right away - it’s beautifully done. And even those who were kids long, long ago will enjoy it. A witty, adventure-packed and sensible plot.

Pohár pro všechny (2014) (TV movie)

English A beautiful and concise documentary about the journey to a third title. Interesting and captivating insights from the tennis players and coaches, and we also get to learn several curiosities that took place in the locker room. It was a spectacle full of emotions. 5 stars.

Mirror Mirror (2012)

English A particularly strange slant on the story of Snow White, but, believe it or not, I liked it. There’s no reason to look for any complicated plot or dramatic acting performances in a kids’ movie. It was an entertaining feet-up movie and I really enjoyed myself watching. And that crazy ending really got me.

Das Mädchen mit den Schwefelhölzern (2013) (TV movie)

English A nice fairytale that makes a fine thing to watch with your feet up on a Sunday morning. I enjoyed it, I liked the setting, and the actors were fine. It’s nothing very challenging, just a simple classic for kids and older. The only thing that bothered me about it a little was the sickly-sweet ending; I had expected a slightly sadder/more tragic ending, but I do understand that it’s meant mainly for kids and so it has to end sort of happily.

Kdyby byly ryby (2014) (TV movie)

English I liked the sound originality and the funny character of Polednice portrayed by Zuzana Bydžovská. However, that's where the positives end. Otherwise, it was simply a strange fairytale that I didn't like. I probably had too high expectations, but this simply disappointed me. The plot was very confusing and I was looking forward to the supernatural characters being utilized more. 2 stars.

Nos étoiles contraires (2014)

English The movie is really gripping, full of emotion and makes you think about every little thing you see. The cast is outstanding: fresh and pleasant faces. You believe the story they tell you. Unfortunately there were a couple of niggling things here and the motif of the movie is nothing to write home about. There are a lot of stories about people who are ill, but this one has a quality about it and delivers good viewing. The only thing that spoiled the atmosphere was occasional sickly-sweet moments and they would just keep on crying - that spoils the overall impression, but even so it was a good, high quality watch.

Spravedlivý Bohumil (1998) (TV movie)

English When I watched this fairy tale years later, it didn't seem as scary to me anymore. However, as a child, it was the scariest fairytale I'd ever seen. It's really not for children. Even after all these years, I think that it has nothing to do with a fairy tale, except for the happy ending.
