The two main characters of the story put in the present are two sixty-year-old people, a couple. They have to state bitterly, that though the Communists left, their life has not changed a bit, they keep on being the suckers, and their brother-in-law, a distinguished cadre of the Kádár-regime is still the winner. Kati keeps a diary and finds resort in dreaming. Ede feels that he keeps on being defeated now by his brother-in-law, now by a burglar, or just by his former love whom he has not met for forty years. He would go to a country house in order to save money and to keep peace. Kati wants to leave him, yet she stays and they face the future together. (official distributor synopsis)
