Thanks to a cantastoria sung by a blind man, everyone in Andalucia knows the legend of noble robber Lucero who used to take from the rich and give to the poor. That is the opening of Ladislao Vajda's film, which insinuates that Lucero might have been a somewhat less positive character. Scoundrel is an example of "bandolerismo" - Spanish subgenre of Western.
