Sixteen Thousand Dollars

Sixteen Thousand Dollars is a comedy that imagines a world in which a struggling black college grad wakes up to find that reparations have finally been paid to descendants of those enslaved in America. With this new found capital, he will decide how best to spend his reparations, totaling a mere $16,000. Receiving reparations opens up old wounds of slavery, Jim Crow, and systemic oppression that he must evaluate on his journey. (Pan African Film Festival)
