Stephanie Nichols practically grew up at the Christmas Shop, the charming holiday boutique her parents opened 40 years ago in the Trolley Square building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. With her parents’ retirement, Stephanie is excited to take charge of the store on December 1, just as the holiday season is kicking into high gear. But her first Christmas at the helm may be her last: a property developer has bought the building and is terminating the retail leases. Stephanie experiences a brief glimmer of hope - along with a spark of attraction - when she meets Michael Kilpatrick, a real estate-savvy customer who thinks he may be able to help her save the store. What neither one of them knows in that moment, however, is that Michael’s employer is responsible for Stephanie’s dilemma. Moreover, Michael’s boss has tasked him the day-to-day oversight of the new project, a situation that grows ever more awkward as he and Stephanie realize they’re falling for each other.
