This parody of pulp fiction is one of many Czech films mocking this kind of literature, but at the same time honouring its artistic ingenuousness and popular kitchiness. In his second - and at the same time his last - directorial attempt Rudolf Hrušínský cast himself as a dashing lover wearing his colts damned low. (Summer Film School)
