The widowed Bereczky Tamás, a land-owner in Szántód lives with his sisters Emma and Sarolta. Every once in a while he goes "up" to Budapest to have some fun, although almost all of the estate is now the property of Szabó Péter, a manufacturer. But Bereczky will not sell the part where his seven plum trees are standing. In their debate Éva, the manufacturer's daughter takes Bereczky's side, while Bereczky's younger brother, who just got home, supports Éva with his love. Everyone is against their liaison, but he finds the girl and as a share-holder, forces Éva's father to change his mind. Finally love and understanding makes peace among all. Éva and Tamás get married. (official distributor synopsis)
