In 1972 Antonioni shot a four-part documentary about China with the approval of the Communist authorities. In the film he concentrates on people’s faces and keeps the commentary to a minimum. The first part was shot in and around Beijing. The next stop is the port in Shanghai and finally witness the skills of Chinese acrobats. (Karlovy Vary International Film Festival)
