In the jungle of the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, Virunga National Park is one of the few places in the world where the mountain gorilla still roams. But the park is located near anti-government rebel bases, in an area where a British company plans to drill for oil. When the rebels launch an offensive, the park's intrepid group of rangers as well as the film's crew find themselves under fire. This exceptional documentary-thriller, nominated for an Oscar in 2015 for best documentary, is an engrossing drama about greed, corruption and callousness in the face of extraordinary determination to defend humanity against evil.
