"I grew up with Asier in the streets of the Basque Country. Then I moved to Madrid. In 2002, Asier joined ETA. How could I make my friends in Madrid understand what had pushed him to take a decision even I could hardly come to terms with? When Asier got out of prison, I picked up a camera with the intention of making a film about him to try and answer that very question and, in the doing, why not, to bridge the gap between our two ways of thinking. But things didn't go quite as simply as I had planned." (Aitor Merino) (San Sebastian International Film Festival)
