Plots(1)

The 12-day journey between Yokohama and San Francisco, filmed with painstaking attention to the waves and an intimation of the journey’s uncertain nature. Shot by one of the most important 20th-century filmmakers and a pioneer of Japanese experimental film and video art, whose only foreign inspiration came from magazine articles because he did not have access to films.
The film is representative of his work from the 1960s, when he focused on poetic and imaginative films, from which he later moved towards minimalist and structuralist works and conceptual videos. (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival)
