The Quebec director’s second film builds atmosphere rather than dramatic situations. The everyday existence of siblings Maryse and Benoît slowly goes by within the winter landscape. He lives with their invalid father while she carries on in a routine marriage measured by her commute. All the protagonists need an impulse to change, to have some hope in order to overcome the cool, routine relationships and disillusions. This sensitive and visually mesmerizing insight into family relationships will remain in the viewer's emotional memory. (Febiofest)
