Tough guy sailor Larry White lands in port and falls hard for pretty barmaid Millie. A whirlwind romance is followed by marriage. Although Larry distinguishes himself and is promoted to Captain, the ungrateful Millie hates their humble life. She pressures Larry to moonlight with a gang of bootleggers. Nightly, he dodges the bullets of the Federal Marshals and the money starts pouring in. Unfortunately for Millie, Larry also begins a very open and torrid affair with Ethel, the beautiful boss of the bootleg gang. When Ethel's boyfriend gets wind that he is being cuckolded, he plans to murder Larry. A repentant Millie must now make a desperate attempt to save the life of her husband.
