Morgan and Jerome are rival crime bosses involved in the drug trade. To get a leg up, Jerome sends Doris (Linda Blair), a prostitute under his control, to steal Morgan's cocaine money. She succeeds, but during her escape, they catch her and chase her until she jumps into a van being driven by Steve Baker, a movie special-effects supervisor. Morgan's men track Steve's van and, after finding out who he is, have his wife kidnapped in exchange for the return of their money.
Doris agrees to help Steve, since he saved her, but the money she returns is counterfeit. Now Morgan is hot on Steve's tracks, and he still has his wife. There is nothing for Steve to do but take the offensive, and he unleashes his entire array of special-effects skills on Morgan and his army to get back what's his.
