Twelve-year-old Annie Lamms parents have decided she should spend the summer with her Grandpa Donald while they enjoy a second honeymoon. Annie is less than enthused, and even more disappointed to discover that Grandpas beautiful house on the beach is a dilapidated wreck filled with a lifetime of junk and clutter. With no friends, no computer and nothing good to eat, Annie is miserable and decides to run-away back to her home in New York City. But fate -- and Grandpa -- intervene and show Annie that there s much more to life than shopping or internet blog sites. She learns the real value of family and friends and learns to see beyond the surface of life. (official distributor synopsis)
