October 1944, during the Hungarian fascist overtake power. Dálnoki Miklós Béla, Commander-in-Chief of the Hungarian army has began negotiations with the Soviet troops. Via two female messengers disguised as strolling players Horthy still wants him to be patient. He is surrounded by Gestapo-agents and pro-English officers. On the 15th of October the radio broadcasts the proclamation of Horthy. The Hungarian fascists prepare for the takeover. Dálnoki would be charged by the Soviet with the commandership over 25 thousand Hungarian captives. Dálnoki does not dare to take the responsibility. But a group of the deserted Hungarian soldiers reaches the Vereckei-pass. (official distributor synopsis)
