A film crew headed by a veteran director (Joris Ivens) travels to China's Gobi desert in this symbolic documentary-styled fantasy. While the crew waits for the wind to kick up, weather reports tell of tidal waves every place but China. English I can't help but feel that Joris Ivens made a film at the end of his long and incredibly fruitful life that somehow serves as a tribute to himself, his work, and life itself. It's playing with film and scenes, but it doesn't really bring me a stronger experience. Just an old man's game. ()
