A U.S. Cavalry captain vows vengeance against the savage Apaches who tortured his wife. Captain Kaleb's spouse was attacked near the Texas-Mexico borderline. Unglued by the tragedy, Kaleb almost murders his major and then deserts his troops. Later, grizzled but understanding General Miles handpicks Kaleb to return to the service.
