The film tells the story of David Holzman, a young man infatuated with film and film-making. Newly unemployed and beset with doubts and worries, Holzman thinks that filming his everyday existence will 'bring life into focus'. English I appreciate the film for how it plays with reality and shows what a film actually is and what its reality or pseudo-reality entails. The whole thing is essentially one big game, where reality blurs and it's unclear what is true and what is just the film. When you realize that through the eye of the camera, nothing is true, everything becomes its own unique, personal world. It's just that the presentation is simply boring. ()
