The feature debut of one of the great Portuguese filmmakers, rebel and outstanding individual Jo?o César Monteiro, presents an intimate, non-chronologically sequenced scenes from the life of a Lisboan family. The absence of a coherent story is caused by lack of finances the director had at his disposal. Due to its experimental, even avant-garde nature, the film offers a whole array of interpretations and readings. (Summer Film School)
