Anna Odell, born in 1973, is a Swedish artist and a film director. She has studied art at Gerlesborg and Konstfack as well as at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. Odell drew attention in Sweden in 2009 with her student film Okänd, kvinna 2009-349701 which discusses the role of a mentally ill person in a society. Her first feature-length film The Reunion (2013) on the other hand focuses on bullying and power hierarchy at school. The film won the Swedish Guldbaggen prize for best film and best script in January 2014, and Odell was also given the Kulturpris prize of Dagens Nyheter paper.
