While studying Film & TV Production in Werbe & Medienakademie Marquerdt in Dortmund, he directed his first short films. After receiving his Diploma, Kai Stänicke worked for X Filme Creative Pool in Berlin and on set of various productions as Assistant Director and Assistent Set Manager. Next to his work on set of feature films, Kai Stänicke produces and directs short films (It’s Consuming Me, 2012 and Own Drum, 2013) and music videos (Cold Star, 2011 and Gay Goth Scene, 2013). His films were shown in festivals all over the world and received both critical acclaim and awards.
