Biography
Matvey Volodarsky (1908 – 1991) was born in the town of Belaya Tserkov. Completed a course of studies at the Verlinsky Drama Studio (1925). In the early 30s worked at the Kiev TRAM theatre, taught at the N.Lysenko Music and Drama Institute. Graduated from the department of directing at the VGIK Film Academy (1937). Until 1941 worked at the Kiev Studio of Feature Films. Then he moved to Moscow where he began to work as a stereo film director. Directed the movies Happy Childhood (short, 1938), Citizens of Kuban (1939), Parade of Youth (1945), Under the Blue Dome (1949), Immortal Song (1957), Vulnerable Creature (short, 1960).
