Biography

Ed Wood Jr.'s career flourished throughout the 1950s as the director and writer of several campy and exploitative films, earning him a Golden Turkey Award as The Worst Director of All Time in 1980 after his 1978 death from a heart attack. Since then his work has gathered a surging cult following, and Glen or Glenda (1953), his empathetic portrayal of a trans woman, was considered groundbreaking for its time.
