Elliott Gould has been one of America's most prominent actors since he first arrived on the scene in the early 1970s. Perhaps best known for playing Trapper John in Robert Altman's satirical film M*A*S*H, Time Magazine placed Gould on one of its covers, calling him "a star for an uptight age."
