Born in Kurdistan, Hussein Hassan is not only engaged in directing and writing movies, but is also a passionate actor. The full-length movie "Mardan" (2014) by Batin Ghobadi, in which he played a lead character, celebrated its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada in 2014. The same year, his home country officially suggested the movie for the Oscar in the category 'Best Foreign Film'. Only since 2005, Kurdistan suggests again movies for the Oscar. "Reseba" (2016) is Hassan's first full-length movie, which will be shown at a German film festival.
