Biography
Stefan Ruzowitzky (1961) is an Austrian screenwriter and director. He studied history and drama at the University of Vienna. He made his debut with the feature-length comedy Tempo (1996), which he followed with the award-winning drama The Inheritors (Die Siebtelbauern, 1998) and the horror duo Anatomy 1 & 2 (2000, 2003). He gained worldwide recognition with his Oscar-winning war drama The Counterfeiters (Die Fälscher, 2007). Among his other films, he directed the thriller Deadfall (2012).
