Gods and Generals (2003)

English A historical film about events that have been filmed many times before, and much better. The interesting cast is underused, uninteresting actors appear in important roles, and unfortunately, the film doesn't have any extra message to justify its incredibly long runtime. The US Civil War is more interesting than what we get here.

Western World (2017)

English I love Westerns, and I'm glad they're making a comeback, but it has to be admitted that it still needs some money, and not just filming essentially in one place with actors who don't quite nail their roles. Here, they failed to create the right illusion of the Wild West, and that's probably the biggest mistake of the film. Then everything goes along with it.

Welcome to Happiness (2015)

English A group of interesting actors in a completely uninteresting film. Searching for oneself and the meaning of life through magical doors that one has in their apartment. By helping others, they find their way to helping themselves as well. This is so uninteresting from a screenwriting perspective and acted so boringly that it just killed the whole thing.

Welcome to Dongmakgol (2005)

English A slightly different view of war. On one hand, incredibly realistic, as the opening passage fully convinces you of that, but at the same time, it's so magical, lightly poetic, sometimes even absurd, yet executed with immense professionalism at all costs. This is a must-see film because it's just so specific.

We Are Your Friends (2015)

English I guess I'm too old for this or something, but I just didn't like this movie. Zac Efron is fine, I'm quite fond of him. I don't find Emily enjoyable at all, and as an actress, she does nothing for me. She’s just there for guys to stare at her. The music doesn't speak to me at all, so I guess I'm not the target audience, but this film just didn't say anything to me. Repetitive, boring, seen it all before.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010)

English It's actually a fairy tale with a capitalist spirit. Oliver Stone continues to delve into intrigue and the possibilities of the stock market, but there's much more of a human aspect here, which is idealized to some extent, but contrasted with how people are corrupt and bad. It says something about us, and it says it quite well.

Watch on the Rhine (1943)

English The acting is what elevates this film, but surprisingly it's not so much from Bette Davis as it is from Paul Lucas, who is great in his role. From the very beginning, you'll know what's going on, and slowly but surely, all the characters will also come to learn the truth. A well-written screenplay with a very powerful finale.

The Black Torment (1964)

English The Black Torment isn't a particularly innovative film; it simply rode the wave that was happening at the time. It must be acknowledged, though, that the setting works fairly well, and there are scenes where tension can be felt. Some of the characters, especially the mute old man, are quite good and help the atmosphere. But for me, the ending was slightly mishandled, and I felt that this deserved a somewhat better and more impactful resolution.

We Are the Best! (2013)

English Punk is not dead, not even among such young heroes presented here. It's to some extent a portrayal of a certain time, of a generation, but on the other hand, I can't help it, those young heroes just didn't grab me, not even in contrast to the music they listen to. Somehow I couldn't get excited about the film.

Waterloo Bridge (1940)

English At first glance, it seems like a pretty ordinary romance, but gradually it turns out that there is much more to this story. Even though it's not explicitly stated and nothing is fully said here, the implication and the way the characters are played give a clear indication of what the film is actually about. There’s also a great ending that I didn't even expect.
