Nick Cage on the lively history of dicks, bitches, shit and good old damn. Professional interpretations by linguists alternate with comedians, all rude and some homosexual. Each word is interesting/entertaining to varying degrees, so weak episodes alternate with great ones. ()
You can't really expect anything deep or groundbreaking from a documentary that dives into the origins of words like "fuck," "shit," and "bitch" in the English language, and that's totally fine. The real gem here is that it's hosted by none other than Nicolas Cage, which honestly says it all. It's like giving a charismatic person a college thesis on swearing and letting them just run with it. A fun, light watch—just interesting and entertaining enough to keep you hooked. ()
It is a bite-sized documentary essay and nothing more, I know, I know. However, casting the excellent Nicolas Cage as the vulgarly poetic host is a priceless gimmick! ()
