Lourdes

Emmy-Award-winning former CNN correspondent Anthony Collings has made a short documentary about the impact of Trump administration immigration policy on one Mexican-American family in Michigan. The film, Lourdes, tells the story of Mexican-born Lourdes Salazar-Bautista, whose three children were born in Michigan. She was an undocumented immigrant in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for twenty years. After her husband was deported, she was imprisoned, and then threatened with deportation. The film shows her efforts to fight deportation, and the strong support she received from Ann Arbor's mayor, city council, churches and other civic groups. Film maker Collings shot and edited extensive footage in Michigan and Mexico that shows how this family was torn apart. (Indy Film Fest)
