One merciful star for Shapiro's cool soundtrack and for Andy Serkis, without whom this film wouldn't have a single joke. Jennifer Garner can act, but she's grossly miscast in (this) “comedy”. ()
I didn’t expect that I would have such a good time. Such a brilliant idea. Jennifer Garner was enchanting and really looked like her, um... peers. Mark Ruffalo was perfectly laid back again. I seriously liked it. Maybe it’s because I could laugh at my little sister who was watching with me, but then again maybe not ;). ()
A desperately unoriginal picture, which wouldn’t matter so much because similar types of comedies (Big, Freaky Friday etc.) depend on the actors and their comic talents. Unfortunately, Jennifer Garner has none in this movie and comes across really lame throughout. At the good moments. At other times, she is simply unbearable. The only pluses are Mark Ruffalo, Serkis and, once in a very long while, a good joke or two. ()
Some scenes are quite original and the script is decently put together for a romantic comedy, but the ending is a shame, it was overly sugary, with everything turning out exactly as it was supposed to. ()
