People have been fascinated by mountain goats since long ago. However, only a few know how much effort has been put into saving one subspecies – the rare Iberian ibex. By the end of the last century, the Iberian ibex had been put on the endangered species list. Both hunting and the extreme environment of the ibex critically reduced their numbers. An international team of scientists took the initiative and began working on a solution to protect this vulnerable species. Pablo Lozano presents these efforts and the results in this film, whose preparation took three years. The film captures not only the work of scientists, but also the passion, fear, and hope that accompanied the rescue mission. (Academia Film Olomouc)

English Every single day, our planet Earth has to cope with the loss of a significant number of animal and plant species that are going from critically endangered to extinct. The Iberian ibex, the subject of this documentary, has suffered a similarly sad fate. Over the course of sixty minutes, we meet a group of people who first try to map the species in order to save and preserve it. But Mother Nature was not in their favour, so they had to resort to genetic crossbreeding and cloning. It was both remarkable and very sad to see the passion and efforts of these people who were trying in every possible way to reverse a virtually inevitable end that is the order of the day in nature.
