Quite a dreadful installment, but honestly, I think the fourth one is still a lot worse. There are basically no familiar characters here anymore, except for Fantaghiró and the Black Witch, but her role is really just episodic. The story could have evolved in any direction, which just bothers me. It's just another drawn-out episode. ()
The greatest waste of film, one that brings shame to the elaborate fairy tales from the beginning of the series. An unappealing new man (??), the occasional contradiction of previous installments, and above all, tedious suffering, traditionally spread over two parts. For anyone who once loved Fantaghiro, let this review be a warning to you: under no circumstances should you watch the fifth installment. ()
