Artist Michal Pěchouček has used image sequences in his work since way back, initially in the form of photo-stories and picture novellas. His earlier video Pram Room (Kočárkárna) formally thematises the film strip, but he transfers its movement to the vertical position of an "unending lift". The feature mystery story Loyal Guard (screened at the Rotterdam IFF in 2007), however, signals a shift towards independent cinema with supervised actors and genre approaches.
