Season 1 (2017) (S01)

English What I expected from The Punisher was some powerful action, but the authors of the screenplay saw things differently. There was loads of unnecessary dialogue only to stretch out the plot. It's a shame because the creators were obviously able to shoot great action scenes, which I really enjoyed. If Season 1 had been at least three episodes shorter, it would have greatly benefited the series. Eight episodes would have been perfect. ()

3 AM (2017) (S01E01)

English I wouldn't say I was completely disappointed by the first episode, but I wasn't thrilled either. The kind of action I expect from this show was mostly off-screen (like in that opening montage). After that, it was mostly a lot of talking, with the construction site and arcade scenes finally bringing some excitement. ()

Two Dead Men (2017) (S01E02)

English I found the story in the second episode a bit more interesting than the first, but the action was noticeably weaker, which is a significant flaw for a show like this. I don't mind dialogue-heavy episodes, but with The Punisher, I was expecting some intense action, and it still hasn't delivered. ()

Kandahar (2017) (S01E03)

English I couldn't give this one a third star even if I tried, and honestly, I didn't want to. The episode was mostly just flashbacks from the main characters, and to be honest, there wasn't anything that really grabbed my attention. ()

Resupply (2017) (S01E04)

English Once again, I wasn't blown away, but I could add a star for the last third. It managed to snap me out of the creeping boredom. Most of the episode was pretty dull, and the most exciting moment was the garbage disposal repair scene. ()

Gunner (2017) (S01E05)

English To my genuine surprise, I finally got a solid episode, something I honestly wasn't expecting anymore. It all started so desperately - after fixing the drain, Frank moved on to a spotlight, and I was worried he'd turn into a handyman for the whole episode. But then the plot picked up, and the romantic rendezvous at the cabin was really enjoyable. I also couldn't help but notice how strategically Amber Rose Revah's beauty marks are placed. But that's just a side note and didn't affect my rating. ()

The Judas Goat (2017) (S01E06)

English Apart from the fact that Dinah and Bill still seem glued together, the sixth episode left me unimpressed, which is a shame. There was a ton of dialogue, but it felt like it was going nowhere, and the whole subplot with Lewis Wilson felt as out of place as a chimney in a submarine. Boring stuff. ()

Crosshairs (2017) (S01E07)

English Once again, the script didn't quite do it for me, but at least this time it didn't feel like the creators were trying to bore me to death, unlike in the sixth episode. I’m still puzzled by Russo's tactic, though. Eight men couldn’t get the job done in Gunner's grove, so he only sends four this time? Maybe he's just trying to save lives. ()

Cold Steel (2017) (S01E08)

English The most fitting word for this episode would be "boring". It was mostly filled with conversations, and not even the opening scene caught my interest. The post-coital scene did nothing to improve it, and the flashbacks to meeting the wives almost depressed me. If it hadn't been for the final action scene, there would've been nothing positive for me to say. The creators seem to have forgotten they were making a series based on a comic book. ()

Front Toward Enemy (2017) (S01E09)

English Funny. Not the episode itself, but the fact that I found myself enjoying the part centered around Lewis Wilson's subplot. It had some great twists and unexpected depth. Also, Curtis is slowly but surely becoming the most interesting character for me. ()

Virtue of the Vicious (2017) (S01E10)

English Seeing one event from different perspectives was surprisingly entertaining. Plus, the creators finally stopped beating around the bush and opened poor Frank's eyes, so the plot could finally start moving forward. At least, I hope so. ()

Danger Close (2017) (S01E11)

English Finally! The creators decided to focus on the action-packed Punisher we all wanted, leaving the conversational drama for another time. I'm usually okay with watching almost any genre, but for this series, I expect this kind of action. I just wish this was the standard. ()

Home (2017) (S01E12)

English The logic sometimes got beaten up more than Frank Castle — and that's saying something. The friendly fire outcome was super predictable, and Frank endured more hits than a T-700. Still, I chose to overlook these flaws to fully appreciate the intense action and the incredible atmosphere. ()

Memento Mori (2017) (S01E13)

English After two adrenaline-fueled episodes, the season finale left me feeling a tad let down. It seemed like the creators were tidying up after the intense action of the previous episodes, sweeping whatever they couldn't handle under the rug to start fresh in the next season. Plus, Frank's decision about Billy's fate didn't quite sit right with me. 4*- ()
