Plots(1)
A clever, self-parodic version of the Aladdin tales has Wilde trying to win the heart of princess Jergens. Nothing goes right for him until he discovers the magic lamp that houses genie Keyes. She, in turn, falls for her new master and successfully thwarts his would-be royal romance. There are some wonderful comic moments provided by the cast and a script that contains some unusual twists. Ingram reprises his genie role from THE THIEF OF BAGDAD. Silvers has some wonderful comic turns, pre-dating his "Sergeant Bilko" television series. The lively direction presents this film with tongue firmly in cheek. (official distributor synopsis)
