Following the wartime disappearance of football-star-turned-army-officer Bob Miller (Bob Waterfield), Los Angeles photojournalist Anne Lawrence (Sheila Ryan) enlists Jungle Jim (Johnny Weissmuller) to help track him down. Yet it's the missing Miller who comes to the rescue when Anne and Jim come under attack by a native tribe under the control of the evil Dr. Mitchell Heller (Lyle Talbot). With help from his pet chimpanzee, Tamba, and Bob and Anne, Jim works to help the enslaved natives who have been forced to create synthetic diamonds for Dr. Heller, in a landscape that is filled with exotic dangers.
