Hexagram 64 (2019) (S04E01)

English I've always been a big fan of this show, but this episode left me a bit underwhelmed. With Minister Tagomi gone, it feels like something's missing. Maybe it's just me, but this time around, the plot didn't quite hit the mark. ()

Every Door Out... (2019) (S04E02)

English The auction heist plot and Chief Inspector Kido's investigation stole the show for me. The BCR movement ruined it a bit, though. While I've got nothing against the movement itself, all that talk about past suffering. ()

The Box (2019) (S04E03)

English The auction scene was a blast, full of action and keeping a solid pace. But after that, things got a bit weird. The story's taking a turn I'm not too keen on. It's losing the spark that drew me in originally, especially with all this universe-hopping. ()

Happy Trails (2019) (S04E04)

English The standout moment in the fourth episode for me? Frau Himmler's visit to the Smiths' family. And let's not forget Bulldog Kido, always sniffing out the truth. But if I'm honest, this season isn't quite hitting the mark like the previous three. ()

Mauvaise Foi (2019) (S04E05)

English I'm bumping up my rating for the first time because those interdimensional jaunts are no longer taking center stage, and John Smith's journey was an unexpected treat. This episode hit all the right notes for me: the tension between the Japanese factions felt palpable, we got a glimpse into John Smith's ascent, and Childan can call himself lucky yet again :-) ()

All Serious Daring (2019) (S04E06)

English Those repetitive chats between John Smith and Hawthorne Abendsen are starting to wear thin, and the storyline with Kido's son Toru lost me completely. I was leaning towards a three-star rating, but the admiral execution scene reminded me of the Cycling Tour from Monty Python :-) ()

No Masters But Ourselves (2019) (S04E07)

English Now, this is more like it! We've ditched those pointless chit-chats and the aimless wandering around the alternate worlds portal. Instead, we're back in action mode, and boy, does it deliver! It almost felt like a throwback to the earlier seasons. 4*+ ()

Hitler Has Only Got One Ball (2019) (S04E08)

English The second half of the season is on a whole other level. We've shifted gears from those intense one-on-one chats to full-on spy thriller territory. And to balance things out, we've got Robert Childan's storyline, which always brings some solid entertainment. It's all coming together nicely! ()

For Want of a Nail (2019) (S04E09)

English Man, this episode was something else! There wasn't a dull moment in sight. The creators went all out with the action, and I was totally here for it. I had a feeling the screenwriter would put an ace up John Smith's sleeve, but I didn't see that Berlin ending coming. ()

Fire from the Gods (2019) (S04E10)

English The last episode left me pretty disappointed. Instead of wrapping things up neatly, it felt more like they just hit the brakes and left us hanging. It's that classic cop out move when you hit a creative wall. ()
