In 1908 the Bible Hunters, Charles Freer, Chester Beatty and financier J.P. Morgan, set off to explore the Near East, searching for the earliest records of Christianity. They uncovered a range of early biblical texts lost for centuries, buried beneath the desert sands and hidden in the libraries of ancient monasteries.
