Gerry leaves her unfaithful lover Jim and takes up with a novelist. But before long Jim turns up in her life again – as her sister’s fiancé. “Ten days before shooting started they told us it was no longer going to be a musical. It wasn’t really a bad picture, but I think I’ve done better.” (McCarey) (Locarno Festival)

Prioritize:
A traditionally catchy pre-code film, and although Gloria often frowned, her vivacious Gerry Trent was set in the most compelling of settings - the shower, behind the piano, and at a party. I don't expect much more from this type of genre and I was especially pleased when the lovely Gerry was slumped over on the sofa. ;) ()
