A few short films made during the Interim Peace in 1940-1941 looked back on Karelia, an area ceded to the Soviet Union in the Moscow Peace Treaty. Vanha Viipurimme was filmed during the summers of 1935 and 1937 and edited in the spring of 1940. The Karelia Suite by Sibelius combined with Hilkka Helinä's touching narration brings back memories from a lost city, and the imagery shows us a number of Vyborg's buildings, destroyed in the Winter War bombings.
