English Armistice simply fails because it doesn't have anything to captivate the viewer with. The monster isn't one that you'll remember for long, and its place in the film is rather symbolic. The actor in the lead role simply can't carry the film on his own; he's not good enough or interesting enough for that. So in the end, it turned out to be a mediocre film, which was already losing with its screenplay, but that probably didn't bother the creators all that much. ()
