Plots(1)

In the late 50’s, mysterious French gynecologist Georges Burou pioneered ground-breaking sex-change operations in his surgery in Casablanca. No questions asked, no psychological assessments required, those that were brave enough and could afford it, seeked him in search of a new life and identity. In this insightful, intelligent documentary, director Michiel van Erp tracks down several of these first-generation transsexuals who were all operated by Dr Burou. Has the decision they had made back then give them fullfilment they excepted? How did the outside world react to them? What does it feel like like to reach senior age as a transexual woman?
