Redux (2014) (S04E07)

English I have written in various comments that I don't like "hallucinatory" scenes in movies, series, and games, but this time I have to make an exception because the medication mix-up and what followed had logical justification and the scenes were filmed in a way that I truly enjoyed them. Especially the gun like no other has fascinated me. ()

Halfway to a Donut (2014) (S04E08)

English The eighth episode brought me a lot of experiences. During various negotiations, there were intrigues and manipulations again, but the main part of the story revolved around the attempt to save Saul. Surprisingly, this drama brutally made me laugh at one moment. It was when the bulletproof Volkswagen came into play, and its windshield withstanded gunfire from a light machine gun. It reminded me of an old joke: "Soviet media announced that an incident occurred on the Sino-Soviet border when three Chinese tanks attacked a Soviet tractor. The tractor returned fire and after destroying all the attackers, calmly flew away." The action sequences with Saul's navigation reminded me vaguely of Pac-Man, so five stars were inevitable. ()

There's Something Else Going On (2014) (S04E09)

English The ninth episode was very "nourishing". The atmosphere and tension gradually escalated and it was clear to me that something was about to happen, but the cunning terrorists and even more cunning filmmakers kept me in suspense so perfectly as if they had a violin executioner's service exam. A successful matter, I had a great time. ()

13 Hours in Islamabad (2014) (S04E10)

English Just like in the previous episode, there was a heightened tension and intense atmosphere, but the last third of the episode turned into balancing and the associated emotional outbursts, which almost convinced me to lower the rating. I didn't do it only because I really liked the first two thirds. 5* ()

Loup solitaire (2014) (S04E11)

English Considering that Peter Quinn is my favorite character and, moreover, has completely gone off the rails, I naturally had to enjoy the eleventh episode. All parties involved were gleefully scheming, strategizing, and manipulating, which was another reason for my satisfaction. I was entertained by the approach of the Pakistani secret service to the demonstration: when a crowd is surging somewhere, you must have a counterflow prepared. I know it's nothing new, we do it here too, but I had fun. ()

Long Time Coming (2014) (S04E12)

English Very unsuccessful ending of the series. I felt like I was watching a completely different show and it was clear to me that I wouldn't enjoy it. The plot dragged on incredibly and after eleven episodes full of fighting against terrorists, I got some kind of family drama mixed with a romantic melodrama. This time I was really bored. ()

Season 5 (2015) (S05)

English I’m giving this season five stars, but it was definitely weaker compared to the previous ones. The thing is that I like the series so much that it's hard for me to give a lower rating. Objectivity is out of the question for me in this case. While I have no problem criticizing other shows, I'm not going to mention the flaws here, although I did notice a few. Shame on me! ()

Separation Anxiety (2015) (S05E01)

English The fifth season started at a significantly slower pace than the beginning of the previous series, hence the decrease in rating. On the other hand, I see no reason to further lower the rating, as the episode clearly introduced me to new circumstances and environment, as well as the main plot, so I am looking forward to the continuation. If the rule continues to apply that Saul will have shorter beard with each series, he will probably have a smooth face in the next one. ()

The Tradition of Hospitality (2015) (S05E02)

English I was already satisfied with the development of the story in the second episode. The episode had a quality atmosphere, it did not lack tension, and this time it also had decent action. I also enjoyed Quinn's storyline, Rupert Friend, similarly to the Terminator, eliminated his targets without having to move a single muscle on his face. ()

Super Powers (2015) (S05E03)

English I strongly considered rating the episode with four stars, but when I found out about the discontinuation of medication, I thought about giving it three stars with disgust. However, in the end, it was precisely the discontinuation of medication that prompted me to give it my full support. Instead of staying at another psychiatric ward, Claire Danes brutally ignited and gave me perhaps the most entertaining moment of the series (the bulletproof Volkswagen dropped to second place). ()

Why Is This Night Different? (2015) (S05E04)

English The creators filled the fourth episode with events, CIA agents alternate with Russians, hackers, and Syrians, the episode does not lack atmosphere, tension, and a decent dose of action, so I couldn't be dissatisfied. I just have this persistent feeling that Saul should retire, he seems to be missing too many facts lately. ()

Better Call Saul (2015) (S05E05)

English Unlike the previous episodes, the fifth part practically lacked action scenes, yet surprisingly, I enjoyed it very much. What was missing in terms of action, the creators managed to compensate with a generous amount of intrigue, manipulation, and the ever-present Peter Quinn. A great advantage for me is that the storyline of the fifth season has captivated me, so I have no reason to nitpick and search for flaws at all costs. ()

Parabiosis (2015) (S05E06)

English At first, I had certain doubts about the episode, but the plot gradually gained a decent pace, the problems grew, the atmosphere was tinged with paranoia, and the creators managed to maintain tension and the intrigues and manipulations once again moved the whole story forward. I have the impression that Quinn would be deadly dangerous even during dialysis. ()

Oriole (2015) (S05E07)

English Considering that I enjoy spy themes, I really enjoyed this episode. Terrorism in this season only timidly peeks over the shoulders of three secret services that are drowning in their mutual battle. Intrigues, manipulation, and betrayal are a daily occurrence, and Quinn's thematic trip to Syria is on the sidelines. ()

All About Allison (2015) (S05E08)

English The eighth episode of the fifth season did not so much focus on continuing the story, but rather expanded it in breadth. It functioned more as an explanation of past events that have a crucial influence on the current plot. As a result, the viewer learns why Allison is the main antagonist in this season and learns that traveling beyond the everyday boundaries should only be done with a verified travel agency. ()

The Litvinov Ruse (2015) (S05E09)

English This time there were no trips to the past, on the contrary, the story moved forward and the creators pointed out my mistake in one of the previous comments, where I wrote about three secret services, there are of course four and the German one, which I omitted, was very much involved in this case. Quinn's ruined trip literally ended in tears. ()

New Normal (2015) (S05E10)

English In the tenth episode, there was a total reversal of priorities, disagreements, and competition between secret services, and the secret services took a back seat, with the main threat once again becoming terrorism. Additionally, the creators managed to achieve this turnaround completely smoothly and subtly, which I appreciate. A very good episode. ()

Our Man in Damascus (2015) (S05E11)

English The eleventh episode was a great buildup for the finale of the fifth season. The creators created a fantastically tense atmosphere and built up the tension in such a way that I didn't have a chance to be bored for a moment. I had a great time and I rate it five stars, although the episode had its flaws, as Arkanoid nicely summed up. ()

A False Glimmer (2015) (S05E12)

English I wrote about the previous episode as if it was the beginning of the finale, but it was actually the finale itself and the twelfth episode seemed like a bonus. I wasn't too excited, mostly because it was a recap, emotions were juggled, and everything was wrapped up at once, making it feel like a rushed end to the series without considering the connections. 4* ()

Season 6 (2017) (S06)

English Season 6 was pretty disappointing. The quality of the episodes was unbalanced. Only about three or four episodes out of twelve felt like true Homeland for me, which is very little. The character that kept this season afloat for me was definitely Dar Adal who made up for everyone’s lack of scheming. Carrie was fighting for human rights, which is certainly very democratic and kind, but I watch the show for a completely different reason than love for the neighborhood Muslims. ()
