The ecosystem of Earth has been destroyed and mankind now lives in orbit. On a run-down space freighter on route to Station 42, a young medic Laura is the only one awake while the rest of the crew lie in sleep hibernation. During her daily patrols through the eerily empty ship, Laura starts to get the feeling that she is not alone. (Mongrel Media)

English Given that I’m always happy to see any pure sci-fi film (and even more so if it takes place in the future and in space), I quite liked Cargo. In terms of visuals and atmosphere, it’s very interesting, though the performances are of course weak. The biggest issue, however, is with the story itself, which is very fundamental and sad, as you’ll agree. Basically, in its not very short runtime, the film never manages to explain what is going on and why. The script is full of holes and anyone willing to dig into it (unlike me) would find lots of nonsense and inconsistencies. I’m rating it with a magnanimous three stars, but it could have been much better. ()
