Game Changer (2010) (S01E19)

English From the sixteenth episode, I have a feeling that something was missing from each episode, and this one was no exception. I really enjoyed Phil's progressing depression, as well as the chess sedans that had an impact on me, but Mitchell and Cameron were traditionally falling behind, and there was also that little "something" missing for me to add the fifth piece. // Well, Luke, in my opinion, the problem is that you're jumping from a too small height, you should try jumping from the garage, then..." "Alex, don't try to kill your brother." / "I'm a great player, but a better woman." ()

Benched (2010) (S01E20)

English Finally, I was able to have fun again. The basketball game, overshadowed by the crisis in the mother-child relationship, had some decent moments, but the boys were really struggling this time:-) Jay and Phil once again had the opportunity to "collaborate" and it was great, I immediately remembered the airport... // "Jay is Jay, but someday I'll be a grandpa too, and then be careful with your jokes!" / "Mom, I love you, but your encouraging words encourage others to humiliate me." / "You know what we'll do?" "We'll get pregnant." "I thought we were going for ice cream." "Okay, we'll start with yours." ()

Travels with Scout (2010) (S01E21)

English In the fourth episode, Dylan convinced me that he is an excellent singer for whom music is a matter that must not hinder his vocal performance, and this time he reaffirmed my opinion again. Apart from the concert, I enjoyed going to the cinema and its consequences, as well as the temporary stay of Phil's father. // "How come he took him away from me?" ()

Airport 2010 (2010) (S01E22)

English Another episode that really pleased me, especially with excellently written dialogues. There's nothing better than being able to relax and have a great time, and the 22nd episode allowed me to do that to the fullest, and planning Jay's birthday party in Hawaii was flawless. I really enjoyed this. // "Gloria came up with it and then arranged everything for us." "Really? For everyone?" "It's your birthday, so I spared no expense." / "I can't love you more than I do right now." "I found a topless beach." "I made a mistake." ()

Hawaii (2010) (S01E23)

English This was absolutely perfect continuation of the previous episode, watching all the family members on Maui was pure joy. The individual characters are funny on their own, but when they come together in one place, I often laugh so hard that I cry. And the Hawaiian version of the hit "Eye of the Tiger" blew me away. // "I'll have the biggest cheeseburger you have, I'll have fries instead of salad, and chili fries instead of fruit." / "Just to be clear, I don't approve of eating one's own offspring, but I understand why giraffes do it." / "I thought that one of the advantages of marrying an older man would be that I would get much more rest, but all this running, swimming, and rowing... That's how some of my relatives ended up in this country." ()

Family Portrait (2010) (S01E24)

English The final episode of the first season didn't turn out too well. The creators can blame themselves for it, though, because they spoiled me too much with a trip to Hawaii, and the last episode looked somewhat gray despite the prevailing white color. I would definitely imagine the end of the fabulous first season to be livelier and funnier. // "We're relatives." "Not blood relatives." "Touch me and blood will flow." ()

Season 2 (2010) (S02)

English Season 2 definitely doesn't fall behind Season 1 in terms of quality. Once again, the creators managed to keep the humor on a very high level as long as I don't count the storyline of the two gay characters. Mitchell could have been a great character if it hadn’t been for his "drama queen" and the poorly written plots. The rest of the characters worked perfectly and regularly had me in fits of laughter. I was delighted and I'm looking forward to Season 3 (especially the holiday episodes). ()

The Old Wagon (2010) (S02E01)

English I hoped that I would enjoy the second season as much as the first one, and the first episode didn't disappoint me in any way. Unexpectedly, I also enjoyed the storyline with Mitchell and Cameron, but it was clearly thanks to the participation of Jay, the dad. Gloria was perfect in competing for her son's favor, and the Dunphys were traditionally on point, so I have no reason to complain. // "Insult me all you want, but not my business acumen. That's crossing the line. What line? You don't see it because I've already sold it." / "Do you really think those rays are in there? Just so you know, I don't want to take care of him when you die." ()

The Kiss (2010) (S02E02)

English How would I... Well, the second episode wasn't bad, Phil's "collaboration" with Jay was actually excellent, but everything else didn't have the same flair that I'm used to. I would gladly tolerate more of Jay's clever comments, a wilder Gloria, and I would easily overlook another serious problem of Mitchell's. 4* - // "Yeah, so get moving, or she'll think you're a lesbian." "She won't think I'm a lesbian!" "I thought the same, your sandals suggest otherwise." ()

Earthquake (2010) (S02E03)

English The third episode was half a star better for me than the previous one, but I wouldn't say I was twice as excited... Gay people are basically indifferent to me (unless I have to watch their romance turn physical), I don't feel the need to lynch them, I don't care if they get married, etc., but apparently because of this indifference, I'm usually not interested in those strange (to me) problems they constantly deal with in the series. The earthquake at the Dunphy's, that was a different story. // "Damn it! I guess God is to blame for that too?" "I don't know who is to blame, but I'm happy about it." ()

Strangers on a Treadmill (2010) (S02E04)

English Once again, it has been confirmed to me that I can also enjoy the storyline of Mitchell and Cameron, but other family members must also be involved in it. Swapping the plot goals significantly helped, Phil's jokes were grounding, and Gloria, Jay, and Manny were absolutely perfect at the fifteen's celebration. // "In every marriage, there comes a challenge, and telling your spouse that they are not funny to avoid embarrassment is probably one of the biggest. ...I helped myself differently." ()

Unplugged (2010) (S02E05)

English No to this! Mitchell and Cameron managed to entertain me even without the presence of other family members, that has never happened. And it took a lesbian in a wheelchair... Jay and Glorie were once again witty and the week without internet at the Dunphy's was very successful to the creators. // Luke, I told you to put it away, come on." "In a moment, I'll beat dad's record." "Did you hear your mom!" / "Glorie's grandfather and uncles were butchers, so she never worried about killing." / "What is the difference between a gamete and a zygote?" "Don't fall for it, Claire, they're just making up words." ()

Halloween (2010) (S02E06)

English Although I expected more courage from the Halloween episode, the weaker five pieces deserved it from me. Once again, I confirmed that when it comes to different holidays, Americans are completely crazy, starting with the Griswold family and ending with the Pritchetts / Delphys. 5*- // "Strong words for someone who added our turkey twice last year." ()

Chirp (2010) (S02E07)

English This time I gave a weaker four stars just because I liked the series so much. Mitchell and Cameron once again reliably annoyed me (boring, boring, dull, dull), but neither Jay with Gloria nor Manny and the Dunphy family impressed me too much. It seemed like the writer needed a break (probably the flu). 4*- // "But nothing, I'm just lying in bed with my mom... Stop freaking out, it will never happen." ()

Manny Get Your Gun (2010) (S02E08)

English Wow! After a quite boring episode, a great part came and Manny's birthday had bigger antics than Halloween. The Dunphy family's experiences at the family camp were fantastic, and the race to celebrate didn't fall behind. But Gloria surpassed everything, giving in to her Colombian nature. // "Where she grew up, there are plenty of assassins and drunken uncles, she should be used to a faster pace." / "How do I look?" "Like Al Capone." "Thanks!" / "If you're not white, you're just filth!" / "You could've hit me!" "Come on, Manny, I can hit a button on a shirt if I want to." ()

Mother Tucker (2010) (S02E09)

English It wasn't a top episode, but I was greatly entertained by the dysfunctional Dylan, the mother skillfully manipulated Haley, the heavily depressed Phil, but I laughed the most with Jay and Claire. And you can guess three times which storyline I found completely annoying again. // "And we thought he'll live with you." "Let me tell you where I'll be living..." / "Give me fifteen minutes, and then tell your mother I went to the hospital." ()

Dance Dance Revelation (2010) (S02E10)

English If Jay and Phil hadn't gone shopping together, I would have rated it with four stars, but I just had to appreciate this. Cameron and Mitchell were once again dealing with nothing, Dexter had already solved the biting problem, and it was much more interesting. This episode finally explained to me how Danny Trejo got into advertising for Mountfield. // "Luke, did you smell good?" "No, dad attacked the perfume salesman and hugged me." ()

Slow Down Your Neighbors (2011) (S02E11)

English The eleventh episode was slowed down by a squatters' passage, luckily at the Dunphys, the gas pedal was stepped on all the way to the floor and Phil was magical in his clash of interests :-) I had a blast comparing Jay's and Luke's teaching methods and I definitely didn't want my evaluation to go down in the end. // "Can't you ride a bike?" "I can ride this one." "Stephen Hawking could ride it." / "It seems kinda cowardly to me, why don't you call the police anonymously?" / "I'll kill you, Jay!" "Alright, good for today, want to go check out the jewelry store?" / " ()

Our Children, Ourselves (2011) (S02E12)

English This was really a funny situation, this time Mitchell, Cameron, Tracy, and her little Pomeranian entertained me. I can't get the scene with Alex, who is having a fantastic time on the trampoline, out of my head. Phil and Claire reminded me of my not-so-distant "amazing" experience with the Sharknado series, and Jay didn't disappoint as usual. // "Jay, they called for a taxi, are you happy now?" "I will be when I hear them leaving." / "Why do I have to go to a French movie? I haven't done anything." ()

Caught in the Act (2011) (S02E13)

English When Gloria sent the email with Jay's help, I knew that I would enjoy the episode, but I still didn't know how well-prepared the script was by the creators. The anniversary at the Dunphys was great already in the first season and it didn't disappoint me this time either. // "The parents are celebrating their anniversary, so we will surprise them with breakfast in bed." "It's hard to choose gifts for them... we never even tried." ()
