An excellent romantic comedy with a great central duo. Gerard Butler is properly cheeky and his sexual innuendos to women carry the whole film. Katherine Heigl is very cute and properly sassy. Great dirty fun with a novel idea... 80% ()
I can't help it, but I have only positive feelings associated with this movie. Yes, I like Gerard, there's nothing that can be done about it, but this comedy seemed funny to me, the chemistry between the characters was absolutely great. I know that this review is maybe a little exaggerated, but I had a great time watching it and that's the main thing I expected from the movie. For this reason, I give it a high rating, because I even remember this romantic comedy quite well, which is also not always the case. ()
Fans of the romance genre might enjoy this affair because it moves precisely within the boundaries that they are accustomed to, and it is additionally seasoned with humor, although the kind that we have seen and heard many times before. Katherine Heigl, in her professional position, possesses an excessive amount of social naivety, and Gerard Butler is slightly cheeky and nonconformist, but only enough so that the film does not risk any category of inaccessibility and, God forbid, does not deviate from the mainstream. Overall impression: 40%. ()
Katherine Heigl shines and Gerard Butler relishes every juicy line, but the whole studio plot, stupid supporting characters, and actually even the spicy commentary on truth felt like a betrayal compared to what I was expecting from the trailers, and I had to do my best not to write the off movie at that very moment. The paradox is that when it slows down, the innuendos disappear, and the romance reaches top speed, I completely melted and, thanks to the actors' dramatic talent, thoroughly enjoyed the last half hour. However, due to higher expectations and the jarring unevenness of the individual scenes, disappointment prevails. ()
The beautiful Katherine Heigl, who has the cutest orgasm of all Hollywood actresses, and the quirky Gerald Butler are the only ingredients that somehow distinguish this offbeat romantic romp from a good 70% of its genre peers. We have fun, we relax and Butler's philosophy of life makes us relatively wiser (us guys, that is), but otherwise the ambitions and message of the film are as hopeless as the future of a relationship that puts sex on the back burner.
